SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent
Pay rate: £85 per day

Pathway Education is working with an “Outstanding” rated Special school in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, that is looking for a full-time Teaching assistant to work with secondary aged pupils with SEMH (nurturing needs). Students have communication and interaction needs and each has their own EHCP. Pupils are aged between 11-18 and are taught in small class sizes (8-10) to ensure they receive extra academic, social and behaviour support to keep them on track in class and with their learning.

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody with previous school experience or someone looking to get experience as a teaching assistant if your background is from another sector. The school is looking for a confident, patient, nurturing, and resilient teaching assistant that can work well with pupils in small groups and 1:1. Suitable Teaching assistant candidates:

  • Will have previous SEND or school experience, or somebody that has been working with young people as a career, youth worker, mentor, sports coach, or social worker).
  • Will be flexible, proactive, reliable, patient and a good team member with a sense of humour
  • Having your own transport is desirable due to the location of the school.
  • Can work Monday to Friday (8.45am – 3.30pm).
